Under some circumstances, when processing drm-protected wma files, an error message pops up which tells that you have to restart your computer for "media revocation and renewal". Usually, this will happen at random after several files (usually 20 to 30) were processed fine.
This is not a "bug" in Protected Music Converter, but in the windows media system. (The same problem would happen if you simply play back lots of drm-secured wma files in other applications).
How to solve the error:-
The simpliest way is to limit number of simultaneously converting files to 1.
To do it select "Help" -> "Troubleshooting" menu item. Check "Limit max running task" and with help of slider (it is located below) set this number to 1. This variant is not ideal, because speed of conversion will be decreased. Try to avoid incompatible other applications
There is an incompatibility of windows media system with some other applications. Currently, we know about incompatibility of these apps with windows media drm:
- AnyDVD (AnyDVDtray.exe, AnyDVD.exe, ADvdDiscHlp64.exe)
- Display Fusion (DisplayFusion.exe)
- Logitech Mouse and Keyboard Settings (SetPoint.exe)
- Spyware Doctor (see solution 2 below)
- Trend Micro Anti-Spam (tmas_oehook.dll)
- F-Secure 2010 Internet-Suite
- Unlocker
- Objectdock
Whether these apps are running in your system, you can see in the "Task Manager" (press ctrl+alt+del to open it). You should stop these applications while using Protected Music Converter for drm-wma processing, if you got this error message.
Then you should consider
- to shut down these applications (e.g. by task manager)
- to avoid that they are started on windows startup (click windows "start" button, enter in the search box"msconfig.exe", look in the "startup" tab there, to disable other applications being started with windows).
If you found another application that is incompatible and causes this error, please email to our support, so that we can add it to the list here to help other users.
Try to update - fix the windows media system
Microsoft offers a free update of the windows media system. On some machines, it may fix the bug. Try this link http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp which will update some of the windows media components that can cause the error.
